At Bowser Automotive, supporting our communities means investing in opportunities that help young people learn, grow, and thrive. That's why we're proud to support Jaguar Java, an innovative student-run coffee café at Jefferson Hills Intermediate School.
Created through a partnership with Pittsburgh-based Coffee Tree Roasters, Jaguar Java provides students with hands-on experience in business, entrepreneurship, and customer service. What began as a vision to create meaningful learning opportunities has grown into a thriving program that serves fresh coffee to school staff while teaching valuable real-world skills.
The project was made possible through a grant from the West Jefferson Hills School District Foundation for Education, along with fundraising efforts led by students who sold 3D-printed items to help purchase a commercial coffee grinder, brewer, and mobile coffee cart.
Through Jaguar Java, students take ownership of nearly every aspect of the operation. They manage finances, track expenses, order supplies, grind coffee beans, brew beverages, and provide daily service to teachers and staff members through a subscription-based program. Along the way, they gain firsthand experience in teamwork, responsibility, and business management.
The program also creates meaningful opportunities for special education students, who help prepare and deliver specialty coffee drinks each week. By interacting with staff and serving customers, students build confidence, workplace skills, and independence in a supportive environment.
