What’s New in the 2018 Subaru Outback?

After its most recent redesign, Subaru hasn’t employed anything radical for the midcycle redesign the 2018 Outback kicks off. In fact, aside from reshaped side mirrors, a lower and larger grille, and some sound-proof glass, there aren’t many visual differentiators. Given how popular this model is, that’s not a bad thing at all—especially since many of the new options make a real difference.

The 175-hp and 256-hp engines and all-wheel drive carry over, as does the continuously-variable transmission (CVT). The cabin and driving experience is where you’ll notice the lion’s share of the updates. A larger center console, and Android Auto/Apple CarPlay functionality is now the norm, while both steering and brakes have been fine tuned to provide a more direct feel. The ride has also been updated with retuned suspension with dampers, for smoother driving. Higher trims also get detail stitching for a more upscale feel.

The new 2018 Outback is arriving in showrooms soon! To learn more about it, contact our Subaru dealership in Pleasant Hills, PA. We’d be happy to fill in any blanks you may have.
