Climate Control Delivers Comfort to GMC Terrain Drivers

The upcoming GMC Terrain uses science to perfect its climate control, thanks to one man and an engineering team. He is Jeff Bozeman: The Iceman. He's "a high-tech top gun whose team created a way to make vehicle passengers feel much warmer or cooler than the cabin temperature in which they are seated."1
Bozeman utilized 'virtual dummies' to focus exactly where air streams would provide maximum comfort for passengers and driver. Monika, the dummy made from sensor and wire girds, was placed inside the test Terrain, and bombarded with intense hot and cold from all angles. 'She' provided detailed feedback to engineers.
Virtual testing is one way auto makers speed up development, getting the final product out to customers faster.
Testing took place at GM's Climatic Wind Tunnel in Warren, Mich. Environmental chambers can reach temperatures from minus 40 to 140 degrees. Final results were reported using 2012's Terrain, available from Power of Bowser in 1001 Clairton Blvd. Pleasant Hills, PA.
"We can better understand things like skin temperature and perspiration and can get a read on a wide range of shapes and sizes of GMC customers," The Iceman added.2
